Crickets

I'm not doing very well with keeping up with this blog, am I? I suppose since I only ran 7 miles in May (breaking my New Year's resolution), I didn't feel much motivation to keep whoever is still reading this up to date on my nonexistent runs. Ah, well.

I've been pretty busy with theatre ever since January, and subsequently realized it's kind of hard to keep running during the day when you have rehearsal every night...

Death By Chocolate - February 2015
Arcadia - April 2015
I just closed Legally Blonde, where I played Brooke Wyndham, the fitness queen who is accused of murdering her husband. My featured song includes me jump roping and singing... at the same time.

I'm in the middle!
I realized that jumping rope is kind of tough on the ankles, and trying to add running to the mix was just plain impossible, so I took a little break. I tried to keep up with my fitness by going to yoga classes, but honestly outside of rehearsals and performances, I was kind of exhausted!

Legally Blonde - May 2015
We closed Legally Blonde on the last day of May, and I hope to get back into running soon. It's typical June-uary here in Seattle (54 and cloudy/rainy), and when that ends, I plan to be outside running like I always do.

I'm taking a few trips before I go to Coeur d'Alene for my fourth production of the year - Singin' in the Rain! I'll be in Dallas to visit my family for a week (I leave on Saturday and couldn't be more excited!), then in Santa Fe for a weekend for my friend's bachelorette party, and then back to Bellevue for a week before I move to Idaho. Phew!

Here's to the summer!

13 Things on Friday the 13th

Happy Friday the 13th!
  1. Fun fact: This is the only Friday the 13th we'll experience in 2014! Good news, because it occurs 3 times in 2015. Eep!

  2. It feels like ages since I've been on here. Usually I try to update when I'm running or doing something running-related, but since I tend to push off my 3 Mile weekly run to Saturday, that gets me updating on Sundays. Compared to other bloggers, once a week is extremely minimal!

  3. A random find from Tuesday Morning :P
  4. June-uary continues.

  5. More than ever, we want a dog. All of our friends have dogs and it's killing us.
  6. Tesla the Corgi (Jessi & Kevin W.) and Annie the Husky (Chelsey & Aaron)

  7. Ronnie the Dachshund (John & Ashley)
  8. Puma the Cockapoo (Kevin B. & Trang)
  9. Boomer the Corgi (Nephew! Whitney & Clay)
  10. Chilly the Poodle (Parents)
  11. The only reason we don't have a dog is because we don't have a yard. Hence the house hunt. We made another offer on another house - but with 45 other offers to compete with, it wasn't accepted. 45! That's ridiculous. We think we might just wait until the housing market calms down, and just move into a different apartment for the rest of the summer after our lease is up. We're not really down with paying $200K over asking price just to get a house. (!!!)

  12. I've been to 4 ballet classes at PNB Eastside in the past two weeks, and it's been really great. Here's a picture of my terrible turn-out.

  13. I'm working on it! Not taking a ballet class for 5 years straight will do that to you...

  14. I'm going to a 3-week dance workshop starting July 6 called Strictly Seattle at Velocity Dance Center. I'm kind of pumped for it!

  15. This post took SO MUCH LONGER to put together than I thought. Lists are the worst. :P

The Beginning of June-uary

Well my friends, things are moving quickly over here in the Peters household. I officially changed my name this week (!!) and made our first offer on a house- a cute 3 bed, 1 bath ranger about 5 minutes away from where JW works and about 3 minutes away from Marymoor Park, where I ran during most of my marathon training. Unfortunately... it wasn't accepted. Right now, the market is really hot with a lot of buyers and not a lot of houses, so houses are going for much higher than their asking price. It was a multiple offer situation, so we just didn't go high enough. It's so frustrating, not knowing what other people are offering, but at the same time not wanting to overpay. Buying a house is certainly a process, and is eating up most of our time.

We're also in the process of getting myself a new (used) car- should this be my new license plate??

Just kidding. That's pretty ridiculous.

While all this was going on, I ran on Saturday. Not the best run, but I got it done.

It was 72 degrees and pretty humid and sunny (so pretty!), so it was a difficult run. I just jogged on the track along the downtown park.

It's the official start of "June-uary" here in the Pacific Northwest, which means one day it'll be 72 and sunny (see above), and then the next day it will be 58 and cloudy. It's the last month before it gets to be beautiful all the time, so I can deal with the clouds a little longer.

We just got our wedding pictures back, so hopefully soon I'll post my favorites!
